Contemporary mosque designs in Indonesia increasingly integrate Nusantara architectural elements to preserve cultural identity while adapting to modern demands. This study analyzes the application of these elements in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Solo (2022) and Al Jabbar Grand Mosque Bandung (2022), focusing on roof forms, local materials, and climate responsiveness. The method employed is descriptive qualitative with a dual case study approach. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with architects and managers, and questionnaires to 150 respondents (75 per mosque). Results indicate that the Sheikh Zayed Mosque blends Middle Eastern styles with teak wood ornaments and Nusantara-style cross-ventilation, while the Al Jabbar Mosque adopts Sundanese batik motifs and green open space concepts. Public satisfaction levels reached 87.5% for cultural identity, 84.2% for thermal comfort, and 89.6% for aesthetics. This study concludes that Nusantara architectural elements can enhance the relevance of contemporary mosques as inclusive and sustainable public spaces.
