Abstract

This article aims to explore various ways constructivism can help students collaborate in college learning. Traditional teaching methods remain a major issue in this research. This method makes students passive recipients of information, which hinders interaction and group work. Using a literature study methodology, this research investigates a number of scientific articles published between 2010 and 2024. These articles were found thru the Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and ERIC databases. The research results indicate that the constructivist approach has the ability to enhance social interaction among students, active learning mechanisms, group discussions, and opportunities for independent knowledge construction. Additionally, research has shown that strategies such as problem-based learning, project-based learning, and inquiry-based learning, which are based on constructivism, have the potential to create a conducive learning environment. Furthermore, previous research has indicated that strategies like problem-based learning, project-based learning, and inquiry-based learning, rooted in constructivism, have the capacity to foster a more collaborative and participatory learning environment. Therefore, this research confirms that the constructivist approach is a useful theoretical foundation for promoting student collaboration and supporting 21st-century skills.
