The assessment of company performance based on human capital is an important aspect that needs to be developed in modern companies. Human capital, as a key component of intellectual capital, plays an essential role in enhancing organizational performance. However, its assessment is often suboptimal as it focuses more on physical resources. This study aims to analyze the role of human capital in improving employee performance at the Regional Drinking Water Company (Perumda) in Buton Regency. Using a qualitative approach, this research explores the condition of human capital at Perumda, identifies the challenges faced, and evaluates its impact on organizational performance. The findings show that proper management of human capital can increase productivity, service quality, and the company's competitiveness. However, significant challenges remain in terms of training, technology utilization, and career development, which need to be addressed to achieve optimal results. This study also proposes strategic solutions to strengthen human capital, including competency-based training, digitalization of work processes, and improved reward systems.
