Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the methodology, dissemination, and learning of hadith studies. Access to digital sources, the utilization of hadith databases, and the use of multimedia formats such as videos, infographics, podcasts, and interactive applications have opened new opportunities for hadith research and education. This article aims to examine the concept of multimedia-based hadith research by highlighting the transformation of takhrīj methodology in the digital era, the implementation of multimedia in the learning and dissemination of hadith, as well as the accompanying academic and ethical challenges. This study employs a qualitative approach in the form of library research through an analysis of relevant literature on hadith studies, Islamic digital humanities, and multimedia learning theory. The findings indicate that multimedia integration can enhance research efficiency and audience comprehension when designed in accordance with instructional design principles and grounded in the methodologies of sanad and matn criticism. Nevertheless, multimedia-based hadith research also faces risks such as excessive simplification, provenance issues of digital sources, and the potential dissemination of unverified hadiths. Therefore, this article emphasizes the importance of a hybrid methodological approach that combines the use of digital technology with manual verification, as well as the application of academic and ethical standards to maintain the scholarly integrity of hadith studies in the digital era.

Abstrak

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam metodologi, diseminasi, dan pembelajaran studi hadis. Akses terhadap sumber-sumber digital, pemanfaatan basis data hadis, serta penggunaan format multimedia seperti video, infografis, podcast, dan aplikasi interaktif membuka peluang baru dalam riset dan edukasi hadis. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep riset hadis berbasis multimedia dengan menyoroti transformasi metodologi takhrīj di era digital, implementasi multimedia dalam pembelajaran dan diseminasi hadis, serta tantangan akademik dan etika yang menyertainya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research), melalui analisis literatur yang relevan dengan studi hadis, digital humanities Islam, dan teori multimedia learning. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi multimedia dapat meningkatkan efisiensi penelitian dan pemahaman audiens apabila dirancang sesuai prinsip desain instruksional dan tetap berlandaskan metodologi kritik sanad dan matan. Namun demikian, riset hadis multimedia juga menghadapi risiko berupa penyederhanaan berlebihan, problem provenance sumber digital, serta potensi penyebaran hadis tidak terverifikasi. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan metodologis hibrida yang mengombinasikan pemanfaatan teknologi digital dengan verifikasi manual serta penerapan standar akademik dan etika guna menjaga integritas keilmuan hadis di era digital.
