Abstract

Sexual violence is a social issue with a steadily rising number of cases in Indonesia; major contributing factors include a lack of public understanding regarding sex education and power imbalances stemming from patriarchal culture. This issue was identified among the youth members of the (Youth Organization) in Dukuh Troditan RW 01, Bolopleret Village, Juwiring District, Klaten Regency, who lacked awareness regarding sexual violence and the existence of the Women and Children Protection Agency (LPPA). This community service activity aimed to enhance the youth's understanding of sexual violence, patriarchal culture, and the role of the Women and Children Protection Agency (LPPA) as a resource for protection and reporting for victims of violence. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was employed, comprising stages of problem mapping, outreach/dissemination, and evaluation. The outreach session was held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 19:00 WIB, featuring Dr. Layyin Mahfiana, S.H., M.Hum., a lecturer at the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta, who presented material on sexual violence and patriarchal culture in Indonesia. The results indicate that the session helped participants understand the forms of sexual violence, the impact of patriarchal culture, and the importance of the LPPA as a reference point for protection and reporting within the community. This activity is expected to foster a shift in the mindset and behavior of the youth in Dukuh Troditan RW 01 toward a more positive outlook and greater concern for issues regarding the protection of women and children.
